- Artists visited the workshops of their fellow participants from the Alto Palancia edition in Almedíjar and Jérica
Almedíjar (01.06.2024). The DAR Fest Alto Palancia brought together different artists from all DAR editions in the Valencian Community on May 25 and 26, who gathered for this event. On this occasion, it was organized by the Rural Arte association, whose members are the DAR artists from the Alto Palancia edition. With great dedication, they provided a unique space for creativity, inspiration, and collaboration, thus strengthening the relationships among the DAR artists of this autonomous community through cultural and artistic exchange.
Over two days, attendees enjoyed a diverse program that included artist studio visits, exhibitions, cultural walks, and outdoor activities, fostering a sense of community and a celebration of art in all its forms. The DAR Fest not only served to promote dialogue and connection among participants but also strengthened cultural ties and enhanced artistic development in the heart of Alto Palancia.
Specifically, on Saturday, May 25, the artists arrived in Almedíjar, where they had the opportunity to visit the workshop of Julia Dobón, a ceramist and visual artist, to learn more about her creative process and her latest works. After this inspiring visit, there was time to enjoy a walk through the town and explore the charming corners of this picturesque village.
In the afternoon, the festival moved to Jérica, where attendees were welcomed with the exhibition Microrrelatos, coordinated by Melina Herrero, Meluca Redón, and Valentina Romero. Afterwards, they embarked on a tour of the town to see how this exhibition had been adapted and displayed on the walls of its streets.
One of the highlights of the day was the visit to Lidia Herrero’s workshop. The artist, creator of the fashion brand Lila Latorre, showcased her collections filled with original and unique garments, most of which were made from recycled fabrics.
On Sunday, May 26, the DAR Fest continued with a visit to the impressive murals of Geldo, a display of public art that enhances the town and reflects the local culture. Afterwards, the participants enjoyed a walk to the Pozas de los Gitanos in Cárrica, a natural spot that offered moments of reflection.
Another highlight of the day was the visit to Pilar Vila’s workshop. With her unique style and her focus on integrating nature and art, Pilar Vila provided a truly enriching experience for all attendees. The day and the festival concluded with a meal at Pilar’s home, where the artists shared their impressions and strengthened the bonds formed during the event.
The DAR Fest Alto Palancia 2024 was much more than just a series of artistic activities; it was an event that celebrated the cultural and artistic richness of the region, fostering exchange and collaboration between artists and the community. This event once again demonstrated the importance of cultural initiatives in rural areas, offering a space for creativity and artistic growth and leaving a lasting impact on all who participated.
