Alboraya. The Department of Culture of Alboraya, in collaboration with Tectónica Cultural, presented on November 29 the first catalogue of artists, artisans, creative spaces, and cultural resources of l’Horta Nord. The result was a total of more than 80 individuals and entities who make up a significant part of the cultural, associative, and creative fabric of Alboraya.
The conclusions of this study were compiled in a limited edition of the catalogue, which visually documents the faces, people, and neighbors of Alboraya who shape the town’s creative network. It presents a sample of around eighty individuals and entities with vocations and ways of working that encompass visual and performing arts, music, crafts, and the audiovisual field, among others.
The catalogue aims to be a tool for the town’s residents and seeks to attract and promote local talent, as well as to project the town and l’Horta Nord through a pioneering, sustainable initiative that maximizes resources.
The presentation, held on Friday, November 29 at the Centro Cívico Lo Portalet, included an explanation of the catalogue’s creation process and a performance of Poesía Sintética by Elsa Moreno and Carles Pedrón. More than 60 people attended the event and learned about the project first-hand.
As a complement to the catalogue presentation, a gathering was scheduled for the next day, November 30, bringing together all the participants included in the catalogue and anyone else interested. The aim was to generate synergies and build collaboration networks within the town.
About twenty participants from the cultural sector shared their needs as artists, as well as their motivations. Several issues were raised, including the lack of workshop spaces and the need for greater inclusion of local artists in the cultural programming, among others. Communication among attendees was very open and fluid, and to further refine some of the demands discussed, it was agreed to schedule another meeting after the holidays. A report will be drafted from the conclusions of both meetings and submitted to the Town Hall.
