Cuenca (29.06.2024). The DAR project, which aims to promote rural development through art and culture with the participation of women artists in rural areas, has completed its application evaluation phase in the province of Cuenca. The resolution reveals the names of those who will receive the necessary support to develop their artistic careers professionally.
This initiative, selected by the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports in Cuenca, within the framework of the grant call for cultural accelerators in Castilla-La Mancha, has attracted the attention of the local creative community, offering a crucial platform for the development of women visual artists in their rural environments.
The selected artists come from different towns in the province of Cuenca. Andrea Cobo from Mota del Cuervo, Marta Díaz from Mariana, Cristina Domínguez from Iniesta, Monserrat Herraiz from Sisante, Elizabeth López from Villar de la Encina, Andrea Montalbo from Cañizares, Ana Nieves Moya from Villanueva de la Jara, Julia Toledo from Motilla del Palancar, and Gema Vicente from Arcas are the participants of the first edition of the DAR project in Castilla-La Mancha.
The final resolution marks the beginning of an exciting phase for all of them, as they receive comprehensive training to professionalize their artistic careers. Additionally, they gain visibility, and their work is promoted, expanding their reach. Furthermore, they have the opportunity to create collaboration networks with other collectives, both from Cuenca and beyond.
DAR highlights the importance of investing in culture as a social and economic driver. With projects like this, not only is Cuenca’s cultural environment strengthened, but new opportunities in the artistic field are also created. These projects enable the development and dissemination of various artistic expressions, fostering creativity and innovation within the community.
