The call for the initiative Dones Artistes Rurals (DAR) in El Maestrat and Els Ports will be open until 29 October. Don’t miss the opportunity to sign up for this edition of the cultural project that will seek to make visual artists visible in the region.
The project is a pioneering programme of cultural management born in 2020 that offers training for the professionalization, dissemination and networking among women artists working outside urban areas. The platform promotes cultural events and makes their creations visible and promotes collaborations and community projects. It also has a training programme for the professionalisation and social participation of visual artists.
The call is open to women from El Maestrat and Els Ports who work in the field of contemporary art on a full or part-time basis in different disciplines such as drawing, painting, engraving, screen printing, sculpture, photography, video art, urban art, graffiti or performance, among others.
The final public presentation will take place on 22 February at the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània. Artists interested in taking part in this call for entries can register through the DAR website, where they must provide their details and attach several documents: biography, CV, portfolio of their works and a document accrediting their links with the area.
The project of the association Tectónica Cultural with the collaboration of Arte Sostenible is part of the programme of the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community, in collaboration with the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània.
On the other hand, there are several institutions that support it, such as the Ministry of Culture and the National Rural Network. The Asociación de Artistas Visuales de la Comunidad Valenciana (Association of Visual Artists of the Valencian Community) recognised his work with the Reconocimientos 2022 award. It is also on the list of the best cultural and social diversity projects in the rural environment 2022 of the Observatorio de Cultura de La Fábrica.
